IP Panel in Mexico City

Every year, the International Law Section of the State Bar of Texas plans an international trip to a foreign country for the purpose of continuing education credit and cultural exchange. This year’s trip was to Mexico City for the purpose of strengthening relationships between Texas’ largest trading partner. The trip included two days of legal panels on various topics. Managing Attorney Gabriela Smith moderated a panel titled, “Intellectual Property Rights in Mexico.” Panelists included distinguished Mexican IP lawyers Bernardo Fernandez del Castillo Quintana of Anderson Tax and Legal, and Jose-Juan Méndez of Méndez+Cortés.

“I was so excited to be in Mexico City interviewing distinguished Mexican lawyers about the most comprehensive intellectual property reform in Mexico in 25 years. And happy to represent Texas businesses that want to do business in Mexico and to learn about important issues for international businesses,” Gabriela said.
