Paola Macassi is a Peruvian lawyer who practices with the law firm Macassi & Co. in Lima, Peru.  She focuses her practice on domestic and international business transactions related to the U.S. and Latin America with a focus on advising the Firm’s clients in their business operations and investments in Peru.

She represents companies in a variety of business and commercial matters, including representation of clients with manufacturing, sales operations, and real estate purchase and development interests.   She also advises multinational corporate clients on corporate governance, labor, contracts, mergers, acquisitions, dissolutions, and general corporate transactions.  She has served as local counsel to clients in the software industry in international transactions and services.  Paola is also experienced in complex international divorce cases, involving the valuation and analysis of large marital estates and those involving closely held businesses and professional practices.

Her experience in the U.S. includes working as an Intern in the areas of immigration and family law in Minnesota.   She was also a certified student attorney for Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office, Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she conducted legal research and participated in motion practice.

Paola holds a Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law (Saint Paul, Minnesota) and a Bachelor degree in Political Science, Women’s Studies and Legal Studies from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, Minnesota).  After completing her education in the U.S., she relocated to her native Lima-Peru, and was admitted to the Lima – Peru Bar Association in April 2010 (Licensed Attorney in Peru validated through Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú). Paola is a professor in Introduction to Common Law at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.

Paola has always been actively involved in supporting the community and providing pro bono services for an extensive list of worthy organizations and causes.  She participates in the legal area of a non-profit organization A.S.F. (Animalistas Sin Fronteras), an association with the mission to promote animal welfare in Peru.  Paola is currently enrolled in the Master in Animal Law and Society program at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
